Physical Science Energy Extra Credit

If you are in Physical Science and would like some extra credit before the end or the quarter go to http://tcip.mste.uiuc.edu/applet1.html and answer the following questions.
  1. What happens when you click off and on the blue switch nearest the transformer?
  2. Close all of the switches and then click on the Open plot window button. Click on Start Time. You should see the graph of power usage start. How does the graph change as you open and close the various switches?
  3. How does the meter reading change?
  4. What happens to the green arrows?
  5. Which appliance uses the most power?
  6. How much power does the refrigerator use?
  7. How much power does the light bulb use?
